Dr. Kramer from PIH made a presentation to all 1st, 3rd and 5th grade students about the importance of being active, staying eating healthy and being healthy.

This school year, Rancho has joined thousands of other schools across the country as a CATCH school. “CATCH” stands for “Coordinated Approach To Child Health.” CATCH schools are committed to helping kids eat more nutritious foods and get more physical activity.

Everyone at Rancho says not to drugs very loud and clear.

Rancho's art club is back in session. The Art Club meets every Monday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. The Art club advisors/directors are Mrs. Monica Quiroz, Mrs. Christine Cuellar and Mrs. Emily Countant.

Like every year, the sixth graders have started buddy reading with the kindergarteners. The sixth graders read to the kindergarteners every Friday afternoon to help them perfect their fluency, decoding skills, sightwords, and confidence while reading.

On Thursday, October 10th a very important assembly took place in Rancho’s cafeteria. This assembly’s message, given by puppets, was to never do drugs, or associate yourself with people who do use drugs. This assembly also taught Rancho students many facts about drugs.

On Thursday, October 10, 2013 was Election Day for the Student Council candidates here at Rancho. All week their posters were up in the cafeteria for all to see. This Election Day determined who would be our Student Council members for the school year.

On September 17, 2013 a Long Beach Police Officer visited Rancho for law enforcement career day.
