This week Rancho Santa Gertrudes celebrated Red Ribbon Week. It is a week long of celebration to demonstrate that here at Rancho we are healthy kids. This year, the sixth grade students participated in the Red Ribbon Week Parade. The parade was organized by the Santa Fe Springs City. The parade started at Lake Center Middle School. At the parade, the students got to see cheerleaders from Santa Fe High School and athletes from Lake Center Middle School. Mr. Pérez, Rancho's school principal, and Los Nietos School District Teacher of the year Cristina Fontenot ride along the entire parade in a convertible red car. They were throwing red necklaces to the children all along the parade. It was a fun event.
