On September 17, 2013 a Long Beach Police Officer visited Rancho for law enforcement career day. His name was officer Ayala. Officer Ayala visited room 14, Mrs. Quiroz, who is a first grade teacher. When we arrived, the 1st graders were really excited. Officer Ayala has been an officer for 7 years. He said that he has always wanted to help people, and make a difference in the world. He works 10 hours, 4 days a week, all by himself. The first graders were able to go in front, and backseat of the cop car. Officer Ayala tried his best to teach the students to stay safe, and follow the law. The kids were on their best behavior, and listening very well. Since they were so good, officer Ayala even put on the sirens. When he did this, the students got very excited. Officer Ayala is very happy with his job. Law enforcement day with the first graders was a success. The students learned about safety, while having fun at the same time.
We want to thank the Long Beach Police Department for allowing Officer Ayala spend a fun learning day with us at Rancho.
