PIH Doctors talked about high blood pressure to Rancho’s 6th grade students and teachers. 11/2/12

On 11\2\12 Rancho Santa Gertrudes had an assembly on blood pressure. The Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital talked about high blood pressure to Rancho’s 6th grade students and teachers. Did you know blood vessels work very hard in our body? Some signs of blood pressure are when you start getting chest pains, and your heart starts to hurt. You really don’t know when you have high blood pressure because there are no skin color changes. You also get high blood pressure when you get stressed a lot. The students were raving when we got to touch a model of fat from a human body. So drop those Big Macs, and pick up those apples and some celery. Food that has too much fat can cause high blood pressure. The assembly was very insightful and quite interesting. We learned a lot from the doctors that visited our school.
