On Saturday October 8, 2011, Rancho's 6th grade students and parents attended the UCLA "I am Going to College" event. The goal of this event was to expose the students to university life. After the fair, the students and their families were invited to watch the UCLA vs. Washington State football game at the Rose Bowl. It was an exciting game!
The students and their families were transported in two school buses accompanied by school principal, Octavio Pérez, 6th grade teacher Elsa Avina, school district technology coordinator Danny Encinas, and PIH Medical Group Intern, Dr. David Miller. It was an unforgettable evening for everyone. Throughout the entire event the cheers for UCLA from Rancho students never ceased. The final score was UCLA 27-Washington State 25.
