The Parent Workshop by Kaiser Permanente's Literacy Promotion Program .

In World of Words, the parent workshop, bilingual facilitators provide updated facts on how literacy impacts children’s health and well-being. They also lead a discussion of how families can easily and inexpensively create a print rich environment into everyday life and make a huge, positive impact on their child’s reading skills.

The key concepts presented in this program are:
• Tackle new words one sound at a time
• Listen and respond appropriately to verbal instructions
• Reading is fun and an important skill to build
